New Flat Roofs

Quality-1st Roofing Services Ltd has vast experience in installing new or replacement flat roofs

Our fully qualified skilled tradesmen are proficient in all types of flat roofing and we only use the highest quality, durable materials.

We take into consideration existing roof conditions, the environment (prevailing wind direction), the location and type of premises to ensure your flat roof is exactly right and within your budget.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) Rubber Sheet

EPDM "rubber" roofing membrane has been a must-have for commercial roofing for more than 40 years. It was primarily a commercial roofing solution but recently it has seen wide use in domestic flat roofing.

EPDM is now the first choice for a flat roof covering in both domestic and commercial environments. It is an extremely effective, durable and aesthetically pleasing type of roofing which is very reasonably priced.

The principle advantages to EPDM are that it is lightweight, unaffected by standing water and has superior longevity. EPDM is extremely safe to install due to the fact that no heat, naked flame or bitumen boilers are used. There is also very little odour and mess, which is appealing to building owners and occupants.

Flat roofs covered with EPDM have exceptional resistance to damage from impact, tearing or shrinkage which  is why the product has such a long lifespan.

Our staff are highly skilled in EPDM installation, having completed the demanding manufacturers training courses, which, along with their vast experience in flat roofing of all types, means that our work is always of the highest quality.

With up to a 30 year warranted lifespan and a projected lifespan of 50 years (at the top of the range) EPDM is a proven, hardy, and cost-efficient material that can endure about anything Mother Nature can throw at it.

Quality-1st Roofing Services Ltd, as a registered installer, offers the very best available service for EPDM installation.

Bitumised Polyester Felt Flat Roofing

Felt is still used as a flat roof covering, mainly where budget is the overriding factor. It is a cost-effective material that has been used for flat roof coverings for many years.

Our long experience in installing traditional felt flat roof coverings guarantees that you will receive a perfectly finished job. We use SBS Elastomeric high grade polyester 'torch-on' felt approved by the British Standards Institute. The cap sheet is mineral finished to avoid the use of chippings or unsightly and ineffective aluminium paint.

What is 'torch-on'?

The process uses a flame lance and pre-bitumised felt to seal the roof rather than the outdated ‘pour & roll’ hot bitumen method, which means that there is no longer a need to have a huge tank of boiling bitumen on your property. It is safer, quicker and produces a superior seal and finish.

Lead Sheet Flat Roofing

Lead sheeting is a versatile material. It has proven to be a long lasting choice for roof covering, cladding, and weathering for centuries. The malleability of lead sheet allows it to be worked into many intricate designs. These weatherings protect stone and timber without detracting from other architectural features and are often specified for character properties and listed buildings. A lead sheet flat roof covering meticulously installed by Quality-1st Roofing Services Ltd will have a life expectancy of way over 100 years.

The majority of lead sheet is acquired in milled form, a process ensuring guaranteed tolerances, uniformity and a long and trouble free lifespan. Full understanding of its properties and correct detailing is essential.

Quality-1st Roofing Services Ltd is proud of its lead craftsmen who are highly skilled in traditional, technical lead-roof work. We will handle any project from the smallest repair to complete re-roofing of large buildings.

All our lead work is carried out in accordance with The Lead Sheet Association specifications current building control regulations.
